Stanford Business School Leadership Development Program

Thought today's meeting went really well - if anyone has other questions/concerns, please let me know.  In my meetings/conversations with Chip, I made sure he understood that we're all quite busy that this has to be win-win for both sides and shared Avni's experience in the social enterprise class (see here if you don't know what I'm talking about - http://fellows.rdvp.org/teddyzmrhal/blog/biosonmeetthefellowspage)

Bios on Meet the Fellows Page

I'm a bit tardy in blogging this, but I was speaking to Avni at Asilomar and she told me this story about being in a class at the business school and one of the business school students literally standing up and saying that the reason that non-profits/foundations, etc. "don't work so well," is that all the good talent goes to work for for-profits, that no one in their right mind/with any talent would work for a non-profit.

What Non-Profits Can Learn From Urban Legend

btw - LOUD AND CLEAR - Crafting Message That Stick is a great article from Chip Heath, the professor the Graduate School of Business I mentioned I met with earlier, on crafting message that stick, specifically targeted at non-profits.

Potential Partnership with Graduate School of Business

Just before I left, I had a meeting with Chip Heath, a professor at The Graduate School of Business, about a partnership with most promising potential.

Craig's List - The Movie!!

By the way - I managed to catch the Craig's List movie just before jumping on a red-eye for the east and I'm quite happy I did.

First of all - the Red Vic Movie House - http://www.redvicmoviehouse.com/ is the perfect venue for this kind of community oriented movie - it is small approximately 100 seat theatre, with many of those 100 seats being love seat or sofa style.  Popcorn comes in returnable wooden bowls and drinks in plastic washable cups.

NextGen NetWork

Thought I would point us all to an article Estee and I recently wrote about the changes in work practice wrought upon and by the next generation of people and social software.

Speaking of which I think I'll talk to Andrew, the curator of PopTech about the tagline - 'The Impact of Technology on People' - it should really be 'The Impact of People and Technology on Each Other!'
