Exchanges are the key to "Unlocking Value Through Discovery", whether it be a stock, agricultural, commodities or land exchange. Key challenges to enabling commmerce are;

* Fragmentation of demand & supply
* Intermediation
* Transparency
* Market access, delivery & commerce

This is where exchanges come into play and enable;

* Marketplaces
* Demand & Sell side discovery
* Transaction & Commerce
* Transparency

Why microexchanges?

Microexchanges are emerging the key to what is the next evolution or the 3.0 of the web. The reasons are obvious as stated above and more importantly key to bottom-un inclusive growth which will serve as force-multipliers to social-cultural-economic capital both in emerging and developed economies. Markets for;

* Energy
* Financial services
* Healthcare
* Commodities
* Communities of producers and consumers

to name a few. It is because the economics of yesterday, today and more importantly tomorrow is going to be vastly different from what we see today as the emerging basis of capitalism for the coming century, if not thereafter.

I believe that market places that can bring together large numbers of end-users will be able to create efficient markets in a whole new range of financial ( and non-financial) markets.

Moneyswap will be launching in October 2008, and we hope will be a strong example of how mass participation, in time, can create more efficiency in the currency markets than the exisiting interbank currency markets.

We at Microexchanges are hoping to pioneer in this space.
