Upcoming events should be marked with date and not days left

By Erik Sundelof - Posted on 02 November 2005

To ensure that there is no confusion when an event really is, the box with upcoming events on the startpage of the collaboration framework what is now marked with days left, instead should be marked by the date at which the event is at.

When clicking on the event for more info, the full information is displayed, including the actual date and time.

For some users, myself included it is very valuable to see time left until an event happens for proper planning.

I'd like to get some input from other fellows before making the changes.

I can also make both things appear there: date and time plus time left to event, if it's not too much info to display.

What do you guys think?

A bigger issue here is whether the countdown is accurate. We've found that, for whatever reason, the countdown was inaccurate. I'd like clarification on how to improve that.

Given that the countdown IS accurate, I think a countdown for the day's events (only that current day) would be good, with a list of the date of event for any other event in the future (not on that present day).

Please verify the date and times of events when added.
In particular the time zone of the event and your own time zone in your profile.

I am verifying the events and the user's time zone information to make sure they are accurate after the time saving date. I will explain this further in another message.
