Subject: [DVF2005] ITN gets funded

6 months ago I joined to DVP with a dream of better life for my people and make a change in the world!

I knew it’s possible, no matter with ITN or any other idea, no matter with my project or your projects.  We are making the change.

Teachers Without Borders and ITN are starting a partnership with a grant of Cisco Systems Corporate Philanthropy:

The partnership is an opportunity to build a new online community of practice for Iranian teachers through a partnership with Teachers Without Borders. With financial and resource support from Cisco Philanthropy, the Iranian Teachers' Network shall connect teachers with global "best practices" in pedagogy and subject-matter, along with information technology training. The structure and function of the partnership and this project allows the Iranian Teachers' Network to grow and sustain itself through the marketing and distribution of its intellectual property, consistent with their aspirations as an organization and their business plan.

TWB shall have a reliable partner for operations in Iran and an opportunity to gain participation of a teacher community there that can enhance the Certificate of Teaching Mastery and make it available to Farsi speakers, worldwide, as well as build an essential lesson-plan and rating system that can serve all teachers, everywhere.

My special thanks to Dipak Basu, Steven Ketchpel, Reza Mahdavi, Peter Tavernise, Fred Mednick, my colleagues in Iran and all of you.

Mitra
