Voice over IP

At SVASE (www.svase.org) main event “Where the Hot Money Will Be Going in 2006,” the panelists from Onset Ventures, Lightspeed Ventures and Draper Fisher Jurvetson talked about the innovations they see that are coming to reshape the landscape of software, semiconductors, Internet, telecom, energy and bio-tech industries.

At any time I log on to Skype, there are between 2 and 3 million users online. The voice quality is excellent; Skype is better than Yahoo and MSN and AOL instant messengers by leaps and bounds. It works well only on a broadband connection though, so as long as you are riding a fat pipe, talking is great, and free.
