Periodically, I need to go and feed my inner techie. This week I spent some time playing with the www.bubbler.net Instant Publisher tool. Similar to Typepad and Blogger, Bubbler lets you quickly create professional looking websites with blogging capability.  The advantage of Bubbler vs TypePad is that you can create a traditionally looking website AND have blogging capability whereas the other sites tend to be, well, bloggy.

It has a set of 28 professionally designed templates that you can choose from. The downloadable authoring tool lets you add content - notes (text), photos, files, video, audio and links. The template takes care of the navigation structure; your content is automatically formatted and voila! you have a slick looking website.

It took me an afternoon to put something together that looked reasonably good.  The site isn't done yet but that's not Bubbler's fault - I still need to write copy for some of the pages.

 Instant Publisher is a 1.5 rev product and as such is a little buggy but very useable.

Since Bubbler also acts as an ISP, your site is up instantly.  Best of all, they have a FREE hosting option for us cash strapped social entrepreneurs - but you have to tolerate Google ads on your site.
