Bios on Meet the Fellows Page
I'm a bit tardy in blogging this, but I was speaking to Avni at Asilomar and she told me this story about being in a class at the business school and one of the business school students literally standing up and saying that the reason that non-profits/foundations, etc. "don't work so well," is that all the good talent goes to work for for-profits, that no one in their right mind/with any talent would work for a non-profit.
We mentioned that it might have been nice to have given her a copy of the document of our bios that Vi sent around late in the summer...which led us to putting our Bios on the 'Meet the Fellows' page off the main RDVP page. In some sense, it is a shame that we have to taut the number of degrees and accomplishments we all have, but unfortunately, that is what these folks listen to. Having the projects there is great, but showing/telling a bit more about the people founding/creating/running these projects could be a big help...and give some more credibility to us all and to RDVP in general.
Opinions? Should we include our bios on the main page and have something for us all to point to when faced with a situation like Avni encountered? I would volunteer to gather past fellows bios as well. Thanks, Teddy
