Unleashing Sustainable Growth in Agriculture through an inclusive model of capitalism: Renewable Energy Example ~ Biodiesel
Unleashing Sustainable Growth through Inclusive Capitalism is the next foundation for capitalism that we can conclude from current models over the last three centuries.
India for example in agriculture, in spite of being the nation’s primary industry and employing more than 60% of the population, contributes less than 20% of the GDP. The fundamentals for this dichotomy and divide are simple - agriculturalists lack access to required Intellectual Property (IP), Energy and access to markets and financial services such as, microfinance, microinsurance and microequity.

Hence a model of “Energy as a Service + Intellectual Property to generate sustainable yields + Access to Microfinance & Equity + unlocking value through marketplaces, based on an inclusive and sustainable model of capitalism” while ensuring the farmers stay owners of their assets.
This framework has the potential to unleash a great wave of innovation in Indian agriculture with the potential to impact the Indian GDP as an industry never witnessed before to create shared-risk models, turn an agricultural asset into equity. This in turn creates a new asset class and opens new vistas of opportunities to demand side markets through a single pipe thereby creating exponential socio-economic value and unlocking value on a scale that is unimaginable.
To put this to the test we got together a bunch of great talent of minds who share the passion and launched an initiative to pull this off and make our small difference to this world, all based on RE (Renewable Energy) platforms and portfolios and the model discussed above. So now we are looking at making a difference across agrarian clusters such as India, USA, China, Australia to begin with.
The bottom line is the time has come for "Inclusive Capitalism" and what the current impact of the financial meltdown is a clear example of "Exclusive Capitalism" does not deliver sustainable fundamentals from an social-economic-natural-cultural capital perspective. The conclusion is that fundamentals stay and the rest is a passing fashion statement. Just wait and watch this space and let's collaborate and partner together to make a difference.
One example of this work that is being built is based on this model is Prof. Udipi Shrinivasa ~ BTech (IITM), MTech (IITM), Phd (IISC). whose work has been outstanding and is considered a global specialist in RE platforms in the areas of Bio-gasifiers and Biodiesel over the last 30 years. His work in the areas of RE, has been recognized nationally and internationally including, the World Bank. He has published numerous papers in national and international journals. His work in the biodiesel space has the potential to impact national economies in the areas of applications on scales unimaginable, for which he won the Finalist Award Development Marketplace 2001 at the World Bank. He has also served on various committees including the Planning Commission of India, the RBI for biodiesel and regulating credit in rural areas. He serves as founder and President of the Biodiesel Society of India.
